The next meeting at Kent Speedway on Tuesday 12th. October will be the rearranged Kent Iwade Garage Royals vs Leicester Lion Cubs match in the National League [NL].
This is the match called off earlier this week due to a waterlogged track and replaces the match previously scheduled for this date, vs. Armadale Devils.
The fixtures for the final two home dates of the season then remain as planned originally, the crucial match vs. title rivals Mildenhall Fen Tigers on Tuesday 19th. and then in the last week of the 2021 Speedway season, vs. Belle Vue Colts on Tuesday 26th.
Earlier today the British Speedway Promoters Management Board turned down Kent’s application to rearrange the crunch match with Mildenhall to be staged at the Suffolk club’s home track on a Sunday in October - this was a proposal to get all four of the Iwade Garage Royals’ fixtures completed by swapping one home date to be held away as there are, of course, only three Tuesdays left available to be used at Central Park.
Both clubs agreed on the change but it’s believed that the Management Board were unhappy that such a crucial match in the very close race for the NL title, a three way battle involving Kent, Mildenhall and current table toppers Berwick Bullets, shouldn’t be moved in this way because of the potential effect it could have in the battle for the NL title.
So this leaves Kent having to find an entirely neutral venue to stage the outstanding match vs. the Edinburgh-based Armadale Devils.
