The Kent CTA Fire Kings made it three home National League wins on the trot after a solid win against the Stoke Potters last night at Central Park Stadium 53-42. The Kings were never headed and only looked to have concerns when Stoke gained an 8-1 in heat 7 and another tactical in heat 11 looked to be going Potters way until a brilliant ride from Ben Morley passing both Potters for the heat win. In front of a cheering crowd the Kings secured the meeting win and three League points with no 1 Steve Boxall securing a four ride maximum.
Potters team manager Malcolm Vasey failed to arrive due to a breakdown on route to the meeting resulting with Len Silver kings co-promoter taking charge of the Potters. The Potters got off to the worst possible start losing the opening two heats by two maximum 5-1 heat advantages before Steve Worrall and Luke Priest gained a 4-2 over Benji Compton before Ben Morley and Jack Kingston continued the Kings domination to leave the Potters trailing 17-7 after the opening four heats.
Daniel Halsey, Potters guest in place of injured Ben Reade took victory in heat 5 but partner Shaun Tedham could not find a way past the Kent pairing, the Kings then extended their lead in heat 6 with a 4-2 from Boxall and Connor Coles over Kyle Hughes. Potters boss Len Silver introduced Worrall as a tactical ride for double points in heat six, he delivered and was followed home by partner Luke Priest for a Potters 8-1 heat advantage to leave the visitors trailing by five points 25-20 after seven heats.
Hughes took victory in heat eight but the Potters went further behind a heat later as David Mason and Compton combined for a 5-1 over Hughes and Tedham, this was followed up with a further 5-1 from Boxall and Coles over Worrall and Priest to leave the Potters trailing by thirteen points after heat 10, 38-25. Halsey was nominated for a tactical ride in heat 11, but Ben Morley took the chequered flag with Halsey finishing second with Priest third for a Potters 5-3 heat advantage who were still trailing 41-30 after heat 11.
Worrall and Potters reserve Lee Payne gained a 4-2 over David Mason in heat 12 to reduce the deficit for the Potters but Boxall and Morley gained a 5-1 in heat 13 to extend the Kings lead and secure all three points over the Potters with two heats to spare. Potters took a heat 14 4-2 with Priest and Payne over Compton to leave the Potters trailing 50-39. Worrall took victory in the final heat 15 from Compton and Mason for a drawn heat giving the Kings a comfortable 53-42 victory over the Potters at Central Park.
