Kent Speedway have announced the admission prices for the long-anticipated 2021 season at Central Park Stadium in Sittingbourne.
This will be the TouchTec-sponsored Kings first campaign in the sport’s second tier, the SGB Championship and admission details for the Championship fixtures (which begin on Tuesday May 18th.) are: Adult price £18; Teenager (13 years to 17 years) £12 - with £2 for an expanded full colour 28 page programme (an increase of eight pages from the last season in 2019 at no increased cost).
This year Kent will have a second team, the Iwade Garage-sponsored Royals who’ll contest the National League and admission prices for these fixtures are: Adult price, £15; teens £10 with a 28 page programme for £2.
For all Speedway fixtures in both leagues children under 12 will be admitted free of charge and there will not be charges for car parking.
They’ll be one change this year and that relates to season tickets. The club appreciates that these have proved popular with fans and thanks its loyal followers who purchased these in previous seasons but for 2021 only they’ll not be a season ticket option available.
With the unique circumstances affecting British sport with a changing agenda concerning advance ticketing arrangements for part of this year and possibly extending further into the Speedway season, the Kent Speedway management have agreed it would be the most sensible option not to have the season ticket option this year.
Co-promoter Len Silver commented, “The club's plan to open on May 18th is completely on track, but given the uncertainties of the Covid situation with possible future interruptions, it has been decided that it would be unwise to issue season tickets this year. One of the deciding factors was our observation of problems created by such tickets at other venues.
“We really do want to thank our fans for their unwavering loyalty and it’s testament to that the number of enquiries we have had about 2021 season tickets. We were the first Speedway club in the whole of the UK to refund their season ticket holders when it became clear that the 2020 season wasn’t going to happen, showing how important such loyalty of fans is to the club. We’re sure fans will understand why this year we are not selling season tickets and can assure them that this is a one year decision only.
“Details of arrangements for ticketing arrangements to meet all regulatory requirements for our first set of fixtures beginning on May 18th. will be available very shortly.”
