With the country still in 'Lockdown' and so starved of live sport, Kent Speedway fans have been clamouring for some way to see action around the Central Park circuit home of the Kent TouchTec Kings - and now there is one, courtesy of the club's official film media partners Rerun Productions.
Starting this Wednesday (April 29th.), a match from the past magnificent seven seasons of Speedway at the south-east's premier venue for the sport will be shown in its entirety on the Kent Speedway website - tapes up at 7.30pm each week (allowing an extra hour for fans to get their dinner things washed up and put away!!).
The opening match will be that historic moment last June when the TouchTec Kings went into action against Isle of Wight Warriors in a winner takes all scrap for the National Trophy - the Kings knowing a win would clinch their first ever piece of national team competition silverware. Relive the action in Speedway heaven, at half past seven!
Then in future weeks, it's up to the fans themselves to choose which match from the past to be featured - with four meetings from that week in previous campaigns up for consideration; the one which receives the most votes taking its place on the small screen on the Wednesday night racing slot!
The matches to choose for Wednesday 6th. May are: 1) From season 2013: the very opening meeting at Central Park, the new Kings versus an all-star 'American Internationals' select side 2) An absolute thriller going down to the wire versus Mildenhall from 2015 3) Bowen & Ayres at their imperious best against the IOW in 2016 4) Local rivalries renewed with Thurrock Hammers in town from 2019
Voting starts from this Wednesday and closes at the old curfew time of 8.30pm on Monday 4th. May - fans can pick their favourite choice on Facebook (either on the Official Kent Kings page or on the fans page, SOKKAR), on Twitter at @kentkingslive or by email to info@kent-speedway.com.
Meanwhile, the first trip into virtual Speedway action is this Wednesday at 7.30pm, Kent Kings vs IOW Warriors premiering on www.kent-speedway.com
And remember: relive the action in Speedway heaven, each week at half past seven!
