The National League Fours [NL4s] event has a change of staging date and venue.
The draw for the event was held earlier this week but it then became clear that due to a number of fixture clashes on the original date (Sunday 7th. July) some teams would be severely weakened by the commitments of their riders to other planned fixtures on that date. One of these would have indeed been the Kent TouchTec Kings - as on Sundays, their number one Drew Kemp rides for Sheffield Tigers in the SGB Championship.
So it was decided to go for a Saturday date instead (when considerably fewer potentially clashing other fixtures are held) and the change has been confirmed, with Stoke Speedway the new venue and the date of the NL4s moving forward a week to be held on Saturday 13th. July.
NL Coordinator Jason Pipe said, “Thanks are due to all NL clubs for their understanding and assistance – especially of course to Stoke promoter Dave Tattum and his team at Loomer Road for allowing us to take this event to Stoke. “ We could have possibly switched it to a neural venue in September but I feel we needed to keep this as close as possible to the original date to keep the several shared NL events spread out, especially more so when the event has received a lot of Sponsorship. “We all want this event to have as strong as possible quartets representing all eight NL clubs and this change has helped to do that and I’m sure by moving back to Stoke (who staged the Fours event in Conference League days very successfully) it will be a great evening for the sport at this level.
The meeting at Stoke Speedway on Saturday 13th. July will begin with a Grand Parade at 6.30pm with the first race at 6.45pm.
