Following the cut-off date for qualification for this year's Travel Plus Tours National League [TPTNL] Play-Offs being marked yesterday (Sunday 23rd. Sept.) with another four points away win, Kent SLYDE Kings are now able to confirm their opponents in the semi-finals.
The way the TPTNL Play-Offs work is that the table-toppers at the point of the 'cut-off' are able to pick the opponents they want to face in the two legged semis. And those table leaders, Mildenhall (still with a 100% record in the division this term) have selected second placed Kent. This means the other semi final will see Kent's KOC cup semi-final opponents Eastbourne taking on Coventry Bees.
The first leg of Kent's Play Off semi will be at Mildenhall - this Friday 28th. September with a 7.30pm start time.
The home leg (which will now be a second leg rather than the first leg previously anticipated) will be at Central Park Stadium on Monday 1st. October at the normal 6.30pm start time.
With the semi-final first leg being arranged for this Friday, it means a very busy weekend for Kent: that away leg of a semi in the Play Offs being followed the very next day (Saturday 29th.) by the visit to Eastbourne for the second leg of the Knock-Out Cup semi-final.
For skipper Jack Thomas and fellow Kent heat leader, Nathan Stoneman, Sunday sees them launching their challenge for individual glory in the annual showpiece event, the National League Riders' Championship at Leicester Speedway. And then on Monday (1/10), of course, it's the second leg of the Play-Off semi match-up with the Fen Tigers at Central Park.
