It's a quick fire reunion with the Isle of Wight Warriors on Monday 9th. July when the side from over the Solent visit Central Park Stadium in Travel Plus Tours National League [TPTNL] action.
For the Warriors' number one and skipper Ben Morley the renewing of acquaintances is particularly poignant - a first visit of the season to the track he called home for three seasons: from being an 'original' King in 2013 to ending as National League Riders' title holder in 2015. Morley is not the only ex Kings' man in the side of course - as south London-born Danno Verge is also part of the Warriors' horde this term. Verge will be hoping to better the four points haul when he came with his new side in National Trophy action back on Whitsun weekend,
Four points was the total which would've been rather more satisfying for Connor King on that Bank Holiday afternoon - who won his first race and was an able stand in for the side struggling to finds a long term solution in the reserve berth. The rider from Suffolk gets another opportunity to stake that claim for a position in the cdeclated 1 to 7.
There's a similar gap at reserve for Kent and co-promoter Len Silver comments, "Chris Hunt [ the SLYDE KIngs' Team manager] and I are still deliberating about our No 7 slot. We are looking for a youngster with a bit of "Get Up And Go" about them and some promise of better things to come."
The short term future is all about that visit of the IOW on Monday of course - gates open at 5pm with tapes up at the normal 6.30pm start time on TPTNL action at Central Park Stadium on Monday (9/7)
